waiting and magnolias

There are many correlations between the last few weeks of pregnancy and the magnolias blooming. For two glorious weeks you experience many joys like rest, friends, indulgence, and feeling the most put together you'll ever be in your adult life. But yet, you know that every day inches closer to experiencing spring weather. And meeting your first baby for the first time. A new season.

Waiting makes the days feel SO long. Here's to embracing that place called anticipation, where excited & nervous are one in the same.

inspiration comes from ::: the work of my hands

This blog has never been consistently stable for editorial content (like diy's and columns). It's never been all that great as a lifestyle blog either. I do not consider myself a writer, and much prefer looking at pretty photos to reading & writing. I've bounced around in my blog journey, unsure of my actual goals as a blogger.

Bluntly, this is my journal of life as a creative and my various projects. So I want to get down to brass tacks, and write a few posts about what motivates my heart from its very depths. Those small parts of life that truly cause a yearning to thrive from within, you know?

Every spring is a miracle to me. I chose to invest in my dirt because it was an eye sore. Little did I know that every year would emerge a new joy to wash over my soul.

Sickly winter twigs suddenly sprout the smallest beauty.

From rocks there arises new life. Like pure magic.

Each year I forget what to expect. You can find me outside just staring at the ground, waiting to catch a glimpse of something new. It's like the anticipation of Christmas, but completely different. Unexpected and faithful. Sporadic but sustained. A reflection of grace renewed.

Like any baker or builder, there is a mountain of gratification with a job well done. Do you have any insprirations that offer continual surprise?

farm fresh easter eggs

Happy Friday!

I recently had some fun decorating farm eggs. With a white paint pen, I was able to make simple yet surprisingly pretty Easter eggs.

Wouldn't you love it if all you eggs came like this? I certainly would!

Any fun weekend plans?! I'll most definitely be celebrating some Irish cheer on Saturday. How about you?

mini yogurt popsicles

One of my favorite trial runs for a recent bbq was making these mini popsicles with yogurt. Mix the simple ingredients using this recipe by Joylicious and plop into an ice cube tray. I also want to try variations like posted on Katie's Pencil Box. Deliciousness. And I love them being appetizer size for snacking without the commitment.

summer fun // bucket list //

Happy Monday!

In order to slow down and not let the summer pass me by, I've decided to create a summer "bucket list". Aaannndd of course I feel that you need one too! Below are downloads that you can edit to create your customized list. There is also a circle option to throw into your bucket as you tackle each activity.

It's official. Enjoy your summer.

lovely bundle {ride my bicycle}

Pretty images that just so happen to be my current to do: find a bicycle (which has been no small challenge, friends). Hopefully soon I'll have one to use as my own photo prop!

What are your plans this fine spring weekend?

simple diy spring wreath

Was able to finish up this simple wreath today!

Supplies needed: $1 table cloth for the grass, large fake flower (one shown is from Hobby Lobby), wreath, and ribbon.

The squares are about 5", which I folded in half twice in order to cut the fringe. Also, set the hot glue gun on low and after squirting glue wait 10 seconds before sticking the plastic down. It burns really easily, but overall this was really simple and worked well. The table cloth makes the wreath "weatherproof" which I am always a fan of.

That's it. Pretty simple but still a fun greeting for guests!

Have a great week!

lovely bundle {bright spring}

This week has been slightly diluted (color-wise), so I need to end on a bright note! Spring is SO revitalizing, and I am blown away how much gratification I get watching my landscaping emerge. This weekend includes more planting (!) and yes—I am participating in the craze that is The Hunger Games. CAN'T WAIT.

How about you?! What are you looking forward to this spring weekend?
