more irish fun

A fun followup as promised. Here we have Guinness cupcakes and homemade Irish cream, with fun accents that I added to my shop.

The recipe came from Big City, Little Kitchen and the tutorial for Irish cream was featured on Style Me Pretty.

The cupcake shamrocks were a little time consuming, but will be fun for the St. Patricks Day get-together, and I had plenty left over. If you haven't had your Irish fill yet, do not fret. I will post one more followup with the full tutorial with the free recipe tag download.

happy heart day to you

My apologies for the lack of posting, my computer had a meltdown and was in therapy last week. Back to pretty things! Look at this adorable valentine that I recieved from my partner in craft-making crime.

Such fun packaging for a yummy treat, and a fun pin wear with future outfits.

my shop!

Has only been in the making for-EVER. I am so proud of my not one, not two, but
THREE products! And a great Valentine's Special to boot! **Sorry, please excuse
the exclamation overload.

And how great is the Etsy Mini > on the right column? So easy to make I couldn't believe it. Oh now just to get busy making more products. Stay tuned.

christmas details

The posting rate is terrible, I know! Making this a habit has not been going so well. Here is a Christmas that I could not resist posting regardless.

One of my absolute favorite blogs for content, A Field Journal, posted her amazing holiday wrapping images. I am such a sucker for kraft paper and bakers twine! How incredibly beautiful.

many horns of plenty to you

Happy Thanksgiving! Above is a card that I letterpressed onto chipboard, and some lovely little felted acorns that I couldn't resist making.

I found this lovely tutorial from Betz White. Probably one of the easiest and highest
pay off for craft projects. I found the acorn tops on ebay and the felt balls are from Ornamentea. A few hours hot gluing and around $35 later, I had 150 of these little guys! I enjoyed giving them out along with the Thanksgiving cards, and I still have so many leftover!

Happy Halloween!

Good thing no one is reading this because I its been a long while since the last post.
But finally the ghoulish promise is delivered. Most idea credits must be given to Martha Stewart, young and old, as I looked through years of her Oct magazine while planning for the 2008 Halloween party. Here are my favorite simple tips that add spooktacular accents to your scare fest:

ABOVE: Use a small red candle to drip red wax over a tall taper candle.

ABOVE: Put a few drops of red food coloring in water, and floating candles and you have a bloody glow!

ABOVE: Just glue plastic spiders to toothpicks and insert into any food.

ABOVE: I found some plastic flys with the spiders, and simply set them on food plates.

Wishing you a wonderful evening of creepy crawlies!

R.I.P

The chilly weather has inspired me to decorate the lawn with adornments. While this flamingo wanders the yard in search of his soul, I'm working on a post with tips for a Halloween party. Coming soon!
