itzza pizza party

My first baby turned 2! While he loves almost everything, pizza is his ultimate favorite—so that's theme of his birthday party. It was soooo fun.

The littles at the party were given chef hats, tutorial from Anders Ruff.

Then the toddlers got to play at the pizza dough station, which was conveniently located outside on the deck.

My best decision was to outsource the pizza crusts to a local pizza shop, Pizza Carrello. This not only saved my sanity but they were super tasty.

Birthday treats were tiramisu cups. I used this recipe for the mousse and this recipe for paleo cupcake layers.

The most time intensive detail was the party favors. I designed a custom "coloring placemat" that I put into a mini pizza box along with crayons. Pretty much adorable.

Those are all the party details! It was such a blast for me to plan & execute—I just love kid parties!

a surprise is on the way!

The time has come at last! You can still place your bets, but not for much longer. I think my little sprout is about to make an entrance...!

week 39&40 ::: watermelon

I'm still here! And still pregnant! Though I'm sure only 3 of you were wondering if my time had come. March offered so little in the large produce department, I chose to combine these last two weeks into the grand finale of watermelon! I wore the same outfit as back in November at 21 weeks, when the bump first began to show. It makes me a little sad! This pregnancy journey for the most part has been really great. I will miss being smug, people being extra extra friendly, and those fun moments with my husband & this new little personality (seeing alien movements, laughing & long discussions, birth class, etc).

Such a trip! I can't wait to see what the next step will be like. My eyes are getting just a bit moist thinking about motherhood and having a son or daughter of my own. I'll definitely be updating my instagram as things begin happening!

week 37 ::: bok choy

It's the final countdown! (insert theme song from Job's magic show - Arrested Development) Everyone else is probably like, "it's about time—we've been seeing these vegetables forevvvver". It's true. But very soon I'll be able to photograph our home updates, and there are some fun ones!

This little 6.5 lb baby will arrive anytime in the next few weeks! Very excited to meet this little personality!

week 33 ::: pineapple

Another week down. The only new news is cankles. UGH why?! Doing extra excercises to help keep the swelling to a minimum. :/

Only 4 WEEKS until term! I can't even believe it. Starting to feel as though things are coming together (with some major spring cleaning/purging going on). Enjoy your week, everyone!

week 28 ::: eggplant

7 months this little booger has been cooking now. Not much else going on with me. My slow work season has hit and I may need motivation to not just lay around all the time. Moving my office is going to be dreadful. Why must I accumulate so much stuff?! Though it helps knowing after the office is all things baby!

Have a great week!

week 27 ::: butternut squash

First post of 2014 and first day of my third trimester! Still in complete denial that in just over 3 months there will be another person in our family. We just got back from our two week holiday, and after a few days of catching up on work/home I plan to be full on nesting. Be ready for cuteness overload!

Have a wonderful week, everyone!

week 21 ::: spaghetti squash

The bump may be noticeabe now! My little spaghetti squash (haha). And prenatal yoga is ahhhh-mazing. Not much else to report, other than I should definitely get to prepping on things like—the nursery. Long weekend ahead = perfect time to start. Enjoy your short work week!

week 18 ::: onion

Anyone else loving the crisp fall weather? This week I had to get some of those lovely autumn colors in my weekly pregnancy photos. The bump is still not very noticable—to anyone other than my wardobe waistline.

first trimester ::: fruit of the womb

Obviously there are many adorable ways to document a pregnancy. Deciding which I wanted to do was a challenge, but I loved everything about this approach. The "fruit of the womb" concept has been done before, most beautifully by Carolee Beckham. I love the agrarian aspect, but also the very tangible representation of the miracle that is taking place inside my body. Still can't believe it.

So each Monday I hope to update my pregnancy journal with a little photoshoot. And I also plan to post a few other non-baby related posts in between as well.
